What is Welcome to Elderfield?

Welcome to Elderfield is a cozy horror farming rpg by Chris Cote, published by Kwalee and launching on PC (Steam) on September 10, 2026. You inherit a farm in a town where the abnormal is normal: clear the ghost tentacles off your tiles, grow corn, pumpkins, teeth or eyeballs, and hope nothing wanders in from the woods. Underneath the farming sim sits a turn-based combat system with element weaknesses, a die roll layer weighted by Luck, and eight Old Gods you swear weekly allegiance to.

This site is the data half of that: 38 crops with grow nights and sell prices, 33 fish with the bait each one takes, a bestiary of 72 creatures with HP and weaknesses, 47 tasks with rewards, gift lists for every villager, and the treasure map and mystery tables. The developer has confirmed the game never ends — there is a final boss at the end of the main task line, and farming continues after it — and that the demo save carries over automatically.

First Season

Your First Five Days

  1. Clear the farm. Every tile starts under ghost tentacles; Cleansing Balm removes them before the hoe can till. Start with the cheap seeds on the crop table — Wheat at 5g pays for itself in four nights.
  2. Take Farmer Hans's first task. Bringing him one wheat unlocks a Grinder and Chef Elroy's recipe shop — the first entry on the task list and the gate for most early crafting.
  3. Fish the Lakefront. The Old Fishing Rod is a gift from Fisherman Herb. Bait decides the catch, so check the fish table before you cycle worms looking for Fog Eel.
  4. Gift before you fight. Hearts move fastest on loved gifts — the gift guide says who wants what, and romance runs on the same meter (four characters are confirmed).
  5. Go into the mall mines with the right element. Enemies have flat weaknesses; a weaker weapon of the right type beats a stronger neutral one. Check the bestiary, then forge on the crafting page.

FAQ

What is Welcome to Elderfield?

Welcome to Elderfield is a cozy horror farming RPG by Chris Cote, published by Kwalee. You run a farm in a town watched over by eldritch beings: crops, fishing, mining and romance sit on top of a turn-based combat system with element weaknesses. It launches on Steam on September 10, 2026.

Is it spelled Elderfield or Enderfield?

Elderfield, with an L. "Welcome to Enderfield" is a common misspelling and it even has its own fan wiki, but the official Steam listing and every developer post use Elderfield.

Is Welcome to Elderfield connected to Welcome to Night Vale?

No. The two share a naming pattern and a small-town-with-something-wrong premise, but Welcome to Night Vale is a podcast and Welcome to Elderfield is an unrelated Steam game by Chris Cote.
